Research progress of the effect of torrefaction pretreatment onthe properties of biomass and its pyrolysis product

生物质是能够生产化学品和液体燃料的可再生碳源。在当前能源危机和环境污染日趋严重的背景下,生物质热解技术在替代化石燃料制取高附加值产品方面取得重大进展。然而,生物质存在成分复杂、热值低、含氧量及含水率高等问题,限制了生物质热解技术的进一步发展。烘焙预处理是一种轻度预热解过程,可有效降低生物质原料的含水率和O/C比,提高能量密度,进而提高后续热解产物(生物油、生物质炭和生物燃气)的品质。综述了烘焙预处理对生物质原料以及热解产物特性的影响。首先详细介绍了生物质烘焙的类型及其差异,系统论述了烘焙温度、烘焙时间、烘焙气氛以及颗粒大小等烘焙工艺条件对烘焙产物的理化性质的影响。其次,阐述了烘焙预处理对常规热解三相产物特性的作用机制,以及烘焙预处理在催化热解制取平台化学品上的应用。最后,展望了烘焙预处理的发展方向。
Biomass is a renewable carbon source for producing chemicals and liquid fuels. Biomasspyrolysis technology has achieved significant advances in replacing fossil fuels for producing highvalue-added products considering the current energy crisis and increasingly severe environmentalpollution. However, the complex components, low calorific value, high oxygen content, and moisturecontent in biomass limit the further development of this technology. Currently, biomass torrefactionpretreatment, a mild-pyrolysis process, effectively reduces the moisture content and O/C ratio, improvesthe energy density of biomass, and enhances the quality of pyrolysis products such as bio-oil, bio-char,and bio-gas. This study reviews the effects of torrefaction pretreatment on the properties of biomass andits pyrolysis products. First, the classification and reactor of biomass torrefaction pretreatment isintroduced. Then, the effects of torrefaction conditions (e.g., temperature, duration time, atmosphere,and particle size) on the basic properties of torrefied products are discussed. Furthermore, the regulatorymechanism of torrefaction on the products obtained from pyrolysis polygeneration and catalytic fastEnergy Environmental Protectionpyrolysis is elaborated. Finally, the future development directions of this field are discussed.
